The Howard County Conservancy’s mission is to educate children and adults on the natural world, preserve the land and its legacy for future generations, and model responsible stewardship of the environment.

Jug Bay Wetlands Nature Center includes more than 1,500 acres of tidal freshwater wetlands, forests, meadows and fields. The Center’s mission is to increase awareness, understanding, and appreciation of estuarine and natural ecosystems.

Situated on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, Marshy Point offers stands of old and young forest, open meadows, freshwater wetlands, and a web of tidal creeks and marshes for visitors to enjoy and explore.

Masonville Cove is 70 acres of water and 54 acres of cleaned-up wetlands, nature trails, and a protected bird sanctuary. The Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center offers environmental programs.

The Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Maryland’s most unique NaturalResource Management areas. Its Frank Oslislo Visitor Center has live animal exhibits including turtles, snakes, and an eastern screech owl.

The National Wildlife Visitor Center is an environmental education center providing visitors with opportunities to explore and learn. Attractions include environmental exhibits, interactive kiosk, pollinator garden and more.

Oregon Ridge Nature Center is a certified Maryland Green Center focused on promoting environmental stewardship and offering quality environmental education programs.

Opened in 1974, Piney Run Park features a 300 acre lake as its centerpiece surrounded by 550 acres of fields, forest, and open spaces with over 5 miles of hiking trails.

Located within the Pocomoke State Forest, the Pocomoke River State Park offers a base for a vast array of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, biking, birding, boating, hiking, swimming and more.

Robinson Nature Center is a unique nature education facility situated on 18 acres. Indoor interactive nature exhibits and outdoor one mile of trails. The Center runs over 420 programs including field trips, home school and scout programs.

he Smithsonian Environmental Research Center offers education programs that explain environmental science in ways that change how people view the biosphere, inspiring them to be responsible stewards of the Earth.

Summit Lake Camp’s 200 acres of wooded land and 5-acre lake provide groups with plenty of space to enjoy environmental studies programs and a variety of recreational activities.
