Tours of the Wisconsin State Capital

The Wisconsin State Capitol houses both chambers of the Wisconsin legislature along with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Office of the Governor. Visit the State Capitol to experience the rich history of Wisconsin’s diverse ethnic heritage on a free guided tour, or explore on your own.

University of Wisconsin Geology Museum

The UW–Madison Geology Museum is a geology and paleontology museum that includes exhibits on rocks and minerals that glow, fossils, a model of a Wisconsin cave, dinosaurs, meteorites and more.

UW-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve is a 300-acre nature reserve along 4 miles of the southern shore of Lake Mendota. Field trips to the  Preserve can be an important part of their curricula, treating it as an extension of the classroom learning.
