The world of precious stones, rocks, and elements comes alive for your group at the family-owned and operated Elijah Mountain Gem Mine. The mine features indoor and outdoor flumes for rain or shine mining. There is also a petting zoo.

Hands On! Children’s Museum provides children and their families with interactive exhibits and STEM learning experiences that captivate the imagination and ignite wonder in a fun and safe environment.

Visit the Historic Henderson County Courthouse, now known as the Henderson County Heritage Museum. Groups will find artifacts, archives, and view exhibits that tell the story of Henderson County’s past.

Historic Johnson Farm is a heritage education museum that offers school field trips, historic home tours, nature trails, picnic tables, animals and 10 historic structures on 15 acres of forest, fields, and streams.

Groups have been making Justus Orchard a favorite fall destination since the early 1970’s. Guided tour of orchards and pick your own apples and select your own pumpkin. 

The Mineral and Lapidary Museum of Henderson County features a mix of exhibits that range from specimens of raw minerals in their natural state to polished gemstones and other finished material.

Since 1991, Kanuga’s Mountain Trail Outdoor School has taught experiential outdoor education in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.

Visit Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard to experience fun, family-friendly farm activities. Pick your own apples and pumpkins, navigate the 5-acre corn maze or try hitting a target with the apple cannon.
