The Gettysburg Diorama presents a birds-eye view of an important moment in Pennsylvania history for students to delve into. The Civil War comes to life while students view the entire Gettysburg Battlefield as it appeared in 1863 to Confederate General Robert Lee and Union General George Meade. The narrated light and sound presentation will allow students to understand Civil War strategy in relation to the Gettysburg terrain on which soldiers fought. Students are welcome to take photos of the diorama. Any swords, cap guns, and pocketknives can be removed from the gift shop with advance notice for school groups that would like to pick out souvenirs at the end of their field trip visit.

Homeschool

Field trips to the Gettysburg Diorama are a great supplement to homeschool Civil War curricula. Homeschoolers will see the Battle of Gettysburg unfold before their eyes during the narrated light and sound presentation. This field trip experience allows homeschoolers to understand Civil War strategy in relation to the Gettysburg landscape on which soldiers fought. Homeschoolers are welcome to take photos of the diorama. Special accommodations can be arranged for homeschool groups that would like to pick out souvenirs from the gift shop the end of their field trip visit.
