Bellamy Mansion Museum

Visit the Bellamy Mansion Museum, the 19th century Greek Revival and Italianate style mansion known for being one of North Carolina’s finest examples of pre-Civil War architecture. Completed in 1861, the mansion belonged to Dr. John Dillard Bellamy, his wife, and their ten children, with the last member of the family living there until 1946. Groups will begin their tour in the Carriage House with a 12-minute introductory video before exploring the mansion’s five floors, changing exhibits on history and preservation, the garden, and the slave quarters. The mansion features 22 bedrooms, antique furnishings, and more. The garden's landscape is designed to look as it would have in the 1870s with flowers such as cheddar pinks, day lilies, daffodils, and crepe myrtles.
