Explore the natural features of Central Park’s north end when your group visits the Charles Dana Discovery Center. Start your visit at the Center’s exhibit to learn about Central Park’s archaeological history. Be sure to follow this up with a tour of the Park’s north end forts. Visitors can borrow fishing poles from the Center to participate in catch-and-release fishing at the nearby Harlem Meer. Younger explorers can also borrow the Center’s Discovery Kits filled with binoculars, field guides, pencils, and sketch paper to go on their own in-Park adventure. Park cleanup opportunities are also available.
