The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections. Permanent exhibitions include the Biodiversity and Environmental Halls, offering a vivid and inspiring vision of life on Earth; the Birds and Reptiles and Amphibians Halls; the Earth and Planetary Sciences Halls, showcasing remarkable specimens, including meteorites, minerals, and rare gems; the Fossil Halls; and the Grand Gallery (at the historic 77th Street entrance) that houses an 1870s 63-foot-long Great Canoe. Field trip programs are offered to school and camp groups.
