Students visiting Buehler Challenger & Science Center will work as a team as they take on the role of astronauts and mission controllers to Rendezvous with Comet Halley, Return to the Moon, or Voyage to Mars. The missions fuse team building and hands-on learning with a focus on STEM to complete mission goals. Students are entrusted to solve problems, conduct experiments, implement navigation orders, and more during the simulated mission. Other programs allow students to learn about circuits, water filtration design, and more. Cost varies.

Buehler Challenger & Science Center in New Jersey provides groups with the opportunity to “fly” simulated space missions using applied STEM and inquiry-based learning in a state-of-the-art simulators. Field trip programs, which focus on topics such as earth science, robotics, physics, and chemistry, are available for students in elementary, middle, and high school. In addition, the center also offers overnight camp-ins, professional development and outreach programs, including StarLab Planetarium & Living in Space Experience. Programs are aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

Scout groups can work towards their Astronomy Belt Loop and Pin, Space Exploration badges, and more during hands-on simulated mission programs and overnights! In addition to experiencing what it’s like to be an astronaut, both Boy and Girl Scouts can enjoy science activities, pizza dinner, photo ops, breakfast, and more on Friday and Saturday nights. Other programs focus on topics such as conservation, energy, filtration, and hydroponics. Cost varies.

Homeschool

Homeschool groups are welcome to participate in simulated space missions and other science programming at Buehler Challenger & Science Center. Missions provide a great supplement to homeschool earth science curriculums. Homeschoolers can also try their hand at designing a water filtration system, learn about circuits, and discover what it’s like to be astronaut in outer space. Cost varies.
