YMCA of the Pines offers more than 60 different programs and courses that will enhance students’ lessons back in the classroom. Outdoor education courses use cooperative learning and hands-on experiences to develop an atmosphere that increases focus and retention. Pair outdoor education classes with a team-building program, and give your students an experience that educates while developing leadership, effective communication, commitment, and cooperation. All programs are designed to meet Common Core Standards. Recreational opportunities include the 50-foot Climbing Tower and challenging Swamp Course, along with hiking, archery, orienteering, pond ecology, canoeing, kayaking, hayrides, campfires, and much more.

At YMCA of the Pines Scouts can realize their strengths, learn new skills, achieve goals, and have fun! Outdoor Center staff will work with you to customize a weekend that fits your needs. Consider taking a hike, paddling a canoe, participating in group games, mastering the swamp challenge, or ascending the 50-foot climbing tower. If you stay overnight, enjoy a hayride through the Pines, view the night sky at the observatory, and enjoy songs, skits, and games around the campfire.
