Dickson Mounds Museum
Interpret the past in Dickson Mounds Museum’s 15,000 square feet of exhibits, including artifacts, hands-on activities, multimedia presentations, and more. Guided tours include 2 visual-audio presentations, interpretations of museum artifacts, and a view of the Illinois River Valley from the observation deck (weather permitting). Programming is also available; groups may study Native American history in programs like “The Spirit of the Animals” and “Life from the Earth” where they will tell stories, play games, and create hunting tools and pouches. An archaeological program gives them the opportunity to examine and identify artifacts from the museum.
