Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge
Encompassing over 16,251 acres of land, the refuge is home all year round to dozens of mammals, including white-tailed deer, beavers, woodchucks, and foxes. In the fall, migratory birds fill up the refuge, and visitors can bird watch from the 30-foot observation towers. Groups can participate in nature walks along the refuge’s five trails or schedule a program to explore wetlands, habitats, and wildlife. Program activities can include using dip nets to capture and study freshwater and brackish water specimens, identifying insects and animals on the forest trail, or learning about the Atlantic Flyway and its migrant species.
